Amanera Resort

Dominican Republic

Situated in a beautiful location in the heart of the Caribbean, this coastal residential resort with its stunning beaches, dramatic cliffs, unspoilt natural habitat and world-class golf course, is fast becoming one of the most sought after destinations in the area. Playa Grande offers luxury residential accommodation in its exclusive pavilions.

The Brief

Multiload were appointed by architects Heah & Co. and Tim Warner of Tim Warner Lighting to design, produce and oversee installation of a unique control system for multiple blind combinations for the pavilions. In addition, door lock mechanisms were required to prevent room doors being opened when the blinds were down, thus preventing damage to the blinds on windy days. Off-the-shelf blind-control systems were unable to match the levels of sophistication required.

The Solution

The solution was to use Multiload’s versatile General Control Unit MGCU. This product includes multiple digital and analogue inputs, with logical outputs for low and high current drive. It also includes a versatile microprocessor. As the customer wanted to fine-tune the solution on-site prior to manufacture, Multiload sent an engineer to test the prototype solution, working directly with the client, to create a faultless product and ensure seamless installation, including specification and supply of the door locking mechanisms. Multiload are always willing to work with our customers through a series of modifications until the correct solution has been found.

Multiload provided a rugged and reliable solution and were able to make changes and modification to the brief as an on-going process. I was delighted with their input, and they were easy to work with in what was an evolutionary process.
